Daniele (Terlau) Axtell
Chair Daniele is a native to Northern Kentucky. She graduated from St. Henry High School. After moving to Dallas for school, she met and married Steve in 1995. Daniele has two grown children, Taylor (22) and Madison (20) and currently lives in Covington. She is the office manager for a CPA firm, and runs a small non-profit focused on helping kids at Holmes High School. Daniele also volunteers on the steering committee with Regional Youth Leadership - a program of the NKY Chamber of Commerce. In her spare time, Daniele enjoys spending time with her husband, along with cooking and decorating. |
Clark Earick
Clark currently leads J.Charles as its Chief Operating Officer where he is responsible for the company’s strategy and P&L. Before joining J.Charles, he helped lead Easter Seals Serving Greater Cincinnati as their Chief Administrative Officer and spent more than 20 years in the aviation industry, rising to Vice President of Corporate Strategy at Delta. Earick earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Ohio University, where he met his wife, Kelly. Clark and Kelly, members at First Church of Christ in Burlington and married for 23 years, are proud parents of Madi and Taylor. |
Erik Simms
Treasurer Erik graduated from Logan Chiropractic University in St. Louis in 2006 with a Doctorate of Chiropractic. After working for several years for other practices he decided to open his own in 2011. He moved to his current location in Union, KY in 2017. Outside of work Erik loves work out, read, cook, and experience different wine and bourbon tastings. He is working to one day get his sommelier level 1. He is married with 2 dogs and a cat. |
Dr. Barb Zahler, Ed. D
Secretary Barbara is currently a faculty member at Thomas More University in the Education Department. She completed her Doctoral degree in Special Education at the University of Cincinnati with an emphasis on Language and Hearing Impaired. Her MA was completed at Ball State University in Early Childhood, and her undergraduate work was earned from the University of Bluffton in Elementary Education with a minor in music. Her teaching career expands kindergarten through graduate level education courses. In the field of teaching future teachers, Barbara finds herself drawn to Children’s Literature and those courses with an emphasis on the young child. Perhaps her ten grandchildren play into her being an advocate of early childhood. |
